How to replace a broken roof tile

The best way to replace a roof tile is to get the damage piece apart, by hammering the center of the tile, this will  make it easier to remove.  take the nail that holds the top part of the tile and clean the area.  Check the roof membrane to make sure is still good and sealed.  Apply some of the roof caulking to the nail hole of the damaged tile to ensure you will not  get a future leak from that area.  Apply some of the roof caulk on the groove sides of the existing tiles and place the new one making sure that it will be glued to the old ones since you’re not going to be able to nail it back.  put some weight on it and let it dry for a few hours.  that should do..

Materials needed:

  • Ladder

  • A Hammer to break the existing damaged tile.

  • Roof Caulking.  Use the silicon based roof caulking since it adheres better to the tile.
